چکیده
Objective The aim is to verify our earlier suggestion which accounted for the dynamics of volatile compounds extraction from herb Prunella vulgaris (PV) using steam distillation. Then, anti-oxidative property PV explored.
Methods Because we suggested that inefficient distillation was due obstruction a mass in flow path, used hydro tried eliminate this obstacle. We GC-MS characterize extracted, and thus compare efficiency. treating cancer cells SCC154 cell-line with distillate, cell cytotoxicity assessed colorimetric test reagent, Cell Counting Kit-8. To assess activity Folin-Ciocalteu reagent used.
Results successfully showed removal obstacle, formed by enhanced efficiency compound extraction. Also, distillate did not exhibit activity.
Conclusions Hydro more efficient method than extract herb. However, mild heating provide sufficient energy convection boiling water move floating herb; obstacle still existed limited also. For another issue antioxidant effect PV, it studied reagent. It possess property.

متن کاملComparison of Essential oil of Ocimum sanctum L. from Fresh and Dry Aerial Parts by Hydro-distillation and Steam Distillation
The use of natural products as medicinal agents presumably predates the earliest recorded history. Ocimum sanctum L., is a plant which is used in several traditional medicine systems to cure various diseases. In this study aerial parts of Ocimum sanctum were collected on august 2014 from Shahr-e-Rey in Iran. Fresh and dry partsof plants essential oils were extracted with hydro-distillation and ...
متن کاملTriterpenoic acids of Prunella vulgaris var. lilacina and their cytotoxic activities in vitro.
The column chromatographic separation of the MeOH extract from the aerial parts of Prunella vulgaris var. lilacina Nakai led to the isolation of fifteen triterpenoic acids (2-6, 9-13, 16-20), four flavonoids (14, 21-23), four phenolics (7, 8, 15, 24), and a diterpene (1). Their structures were determined by spectroscopic methods to be trans-phytol (1), oleanic acid (2) ursolic acid (3), 2alpha,...
متن کاملIdentification of two polysaccharides from Prunella vulgaris L. and evaluation on their anti-lung adenocarcinoma activity.
Prunella vulgaris L. (PV) has been used for tumor therapy in Traditional Chinese Medicine for centuries, however, systematic research on extracted PV polysaccharides believed to possess various biological activities, as well as their preventive and anti-tumor effects on lung cancer has not been reported. In this study, two polysaccharides (P31 and P32) were isolated from the aqueous extract of ...
متن کاملAnti-Proliferative Effect of an Aqueous Extract of Prunella vulgaris in Vascular Smooth Muscle Cells
The abnormal proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) in arterial walls is an important pathogenic factor of vascular disorders such as diabetic atherosclerosis. We have reported the anti-inflammatory effect of an aqueous extract from Prunella vulgaris (APV) in vascular endothelial cell. In the present study, APV exhibited inhibitory effects on high glucose-stimulated VSMC prolifer...
